Sumatibhai Shah Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Hadapsar, Pune 411028 is a leading institute in the education field of Ayurved in India. Established on 1st August 1990 as the Undergraduate course institute, the institute is well-spread having far-flung activities in U. G., P. G., and Diploma and Fellowship courses. It is joined with Maharashtra University of Health Science NASIK. This is an Ayurved Mahavidyalay & 250 bedded Hospital. The mother institute of our college is Maharashtra Arogya Mandal, Hadapsar, Pune founded by the visionary Late Dr. Dadasaheb alias S. T. Gujar who was the doctor of Indigenous system of Medicines (Ayurved) inspired by the thoughts and principles laid down by Late Sane Guruji (the great legendary social leader from Maharashtra).

  • Guest Lecture on "Retinopathy of Prematurity" organized by the Department of Shalakyatantra: On December 20, 2025, the Department of Shalakyatantra organized a guest lecture on "Retinopathy of Prematurity". Nineteen PG students from our institution and various Ayurved colleges in Pune registered for the event. A total of 32 participants attended the lecture. The program was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Anita Bodakhe and Dr. Sumedha Kotangale, Head of the Department of Shalakyatantra (Organizing Secretary). Organizing Committee members, faculty from the Department of Pediatrics, PG students from the Department of Shalakyatantra, and representatives from CARC Nigdi College and Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya were also present.

  • Lecture by Nilima Tara Suresh for PG Students: On January 26, 2026, Nilima Tara Suresh delivered a lecture on "Constitutional Values" in Class Room 7, addressing faculty, non-teaching staff, and postgraduate students.

  • Guest Lecture by Dr. Amba Kulkarni organized by the Sanskrit Club, Samhita Siddhanta Department: On January 22, 2026, the Sanskrit Club, Samhita Siddhanta Department, organized a guest lecture by Dr. Amba Kulkarni. The topic was "Resource App" and "How to use Shabda Bodha in Samhita Vachana". Dr. Kulkarni explained the use of Akanksha, Yogyata, and Sannidhi in text reading, and demonstrated the Resource App and e-reader.

  • Faculty Development Program (FDP) Session under Advanced HSET Course: On January 10, 2026, Dr. Nitesh Raghunath Joshi, Postgraduate Coordinator and Associate Professor, Department of Swasthavritta and Yoga, conducted an FDP session as part of the 23rd Advanced Course in Health Sciences Education Technology (HSET) organized by IMETT, MUHS, Nashik.

  • Training of Medical Professionals under SSHAKTI Project: On January 21, 2026, the Department of Kayachikitsa participated in the training of medical professionals under the SSHAKTI Project, organized by HLFPPT at Hotel Quality Inn Mint, Sangamwadi, Pune. Dr. C.U. Mahajan, Dr. V.S. Patil, Dr. A.A. Matey, Dr. Priya Shewale, and Dr. Prajakta Patil attended the training.

  • EDUCATIONAL VISITS:
    Visit to SGRS College of Pharmacy: On January 17, 2026, the Department of Dravyaguna organized an educational visit to SGRS College of Pharmacy for second-year BAMS students (Anande-Barge batch). A total of 48 students participated, accompanied by Dr. Amit Awalskar, Head of the Department, Dr. Akash Chavan, and postgraduate student Dr. Aditya Joshi.

  • Visit by Students of Chandrabhaga Baburao Tupe Sadhana Kanya Vidyalaya: On January 5, 2026, students from Chandrabhaga Baburao Tupe Sadhana Kanya Vidyalaya visited the Herbal Garden under the Department of Dravyaguna. The students were guided by Dr. Amit Awalskar, Dr. Vivek Chaudhary, Dr. Rita Mandle, and Dr. Akash Chavan.

  • Visit by First-Year D. Pharm Students from Armed Forces Medical College: On January 12, 2026, first-year D. Pharm students from Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, visited the Herbal Garden. The students were guided by Dr. Amit Awalskar, Dr. Vivek Chaudhary, Dr. Rita Mandle, and Dr. Akash Chavan.

  • Visit by First-Year D. Pharm Students from Armed Forces Medical College to Rasamrit Pharmacy: On January 12, 2026, first-year D. Pharm students from Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, visited Rasamrit Pharmacy. The students were guided by Dr. Yogesh Bhatambre from the Department of Rasashastra.

  • Educational Visit to J.E. Farm Nursery, Pune, for PG Students: On January 30, 2026, the Department of Dravyaguna organized an educational visit to J.E. Farm Nursery, Pune, for postgraduate students. The visit aimed to demonstrate medicinal plants as part of their postgraduate curriculum. Dr. Amit Awalskar, Head of the Department, and postgraduate students from the first, second, and third years participated.

  • On the occasion of the 27th MUHS Anniversary, a National Unity Camp was held from 20/05/2025 to 26/05/2025 at Bembala St. Joseph Outreach Center, Bangalore. MUHS Team presented Maharashtra’s Lokdhara and secured second prize. B.A.M.S. student Ms. Vishakha Prashant Kolhe was part of the team, which was honored with a certificate and trophy by Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen. Madhuri Kanitkar on 10/06/2025.

  • The Department of Shalya tantra of the college organized a two-day guest lecture for clinical PG students from 12/06/2025 to 13/06/2025. The topic of the lecture was (Suture and Knot Tying) Sivan Karma, Yogya Vidhi Workshop. 80 PG students benefited from this programme. Dr. Vijay Pawar gave a lecture on the basic information, types, characteristics and its clinical applications of suture. Also, Lecturer of Shalyatantra Dr.Yogesh Narkhede gave a lecture on types of needles and their characteristics, HOD of Shalya tantra dept. Dr. Kamlakar Gajare provided hands-on training on suture techniques on suture models, Lecturer Dr. Sandeep Mali supervised the hands-on training session & Reader Dr. Rashmi Kale on knot tying, Dr. Kamlakar Gajare demonstrated and taught various techniques of knot tying to PG students.
  • A lecture on the topic of Awareness & Importance of blood donation was organized on 16/06/2025. All the teachers, UG and PG students of the college participated in this lecture.
  • Ganesh Nigade–Reader college of Pharmacy Saswad gave a lecture on the topic of “Analytical Excellence in Ayurveda: Emerging trends and Techniques” was organized on 14/06/2025 for PG students admitted in the academic year 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25. All PG students of the college participated in this lecture.

  • Prof. Dr. Sachinkumar Sahebrao Patil received the Best Principal Award: At the National Conference and Golden Aim Awards 2026, held at the Ginger Airport Hotel, Mumbai, on 24 January 2026, CEO Farukuddin Siddiqui presented the "Best Principal and Medical Director Award 2026" to Prof. Dr. Sachinkumar Sahebrao Patil, Principal of the our college, for excellence in leadership and quality healthcare and education.

  • Participation in the Pharmacovigilance program: The Peripheral Pharmacovigilance Center (PPVC), Bharati Vidyapeeth, Ayurved College, Pune, organized an Awareness and Orientation Programme on Pharmacovigilance and ADR Reporting in Ayush System on 25/03/2026. Principal Dr. Shailesh Deshpande and guest speaker Dr. Sangram Das inaugurated the program. Dr. Kavita Deshmukh, Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Pharmacovigilance Committee, Rasashastra Department, participated in the program.

  • Organization of Basic Research Methodology Workshop: As per the directives of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, a Basic Research Methodology Workshop was organized for the postgraduate students of the academic year 2025-26. Workshop-1 was held from 13/03/2026 to 15/03/2026 and Workshop-2 was held from 23/03/2026 to 25/03/2026. A total of 100 faculty members and students from various departments of the college participated in the workshop

  • International Women's Day Celebration: On the occasion of International Women's Day, on 09/03/2026, the Swasthavritta department guided women on various topics: "Emergency conditions and First Aid"- an interactive session, empower women's for management in emergency situations, followed by CPR practical demonstration and "Menopause: Dietary and Lifestyle Modification". The theme for the year 2025-26 was Give to Gain. All faculty, non-teaching staff from the Swasthavritta department, and women attending the yoga class were present for this program.

  • Basic Life Support or Compression only life Support training: On the occasion of International Women's Day, Basic Life Support (BLS)/COLS Compression only life Support training was organized on 09/03/2026 by the Stree Roga department for women staff. A lecture on Yoga and Wellness was conducted by Shreya Amrutkar and Smita from Art of Living.

  • World Tuberculosis Day: On 24/03/2026, on the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day, a lecture was organized jointly by Pune Municipal Corporation Tuberculosis Department, Sane Guruji Arogya Kendra, Sumatibhai Shah Ayurved Mahavidyalaya National Service Scheme and Swasthavritta Department, and World Tuberculosis Day was celebrated. On this occasion, M.A.M. Secretary Shri Anil Gujar, Pune Municipal Corporation officers Pallavi Harjeet, Ganga Sonawane, Dr. Chandrashekhar Mahajan from Sane Guruji Arogya Kendra, Principal of Ayurved Mahavidyalaya Dr. Sachinkumar Patil, HOD of Swasthavritta Department Dr. Ramesh Ujwale, Program Officer Dr. Shankar Kemkar and Assistant Program Officer Dr. Shravani Babar etc. were present. Also, public awareness about tuberculosis was created through a grand rally in the Hadapsar Malwadi area. NSS coordinators were present with the rally.

  • Ayush Natural Viksit Maha Worlds Expo 2026 Pune awards for college teachers: On 20/02/2026 at Ayush Natural Viksit Maha Worlds Expo 2026 Pune our college's Dr. Sachinkumar Patil received Award for Clinical Excellence, Dr. Vivek Chaudhari received Award for Academic Excellence and Dr. Nitesh Joshi received Award for Research Excellence.

  • Post graduate student Dr. Nimisha Kavde received third prize in Poster Presentation: On 02/02/2026 Tilak Ayurved College organized National Seminar Hall Ayurvedic Management of Neurological Disorders. Our college's Panchakarma department second year post graduate student Dr. Nimisha Kavde received third prize in Poster Presentation.

  • Post graduate student Dr. Mrunal Mahadik received first prize in Essay Competition: On 06/02/2026 National Education Board Pune organized late. Vd. Purushottam Shastri Nanal Inter Medical Collegiate National Competitions 2026 our college's Dravyaguna department second year post graduate student Dr. Mrunal Mahadik received first prize in Essay Competition.

  • Post graduate student Dr. Mugdha Phadke received third prize in Paper Presentation Competition: On 08/02/2026 at National Education Board Pune organized late. Vd. Purushottam Shastri Nanal Inter Medical Collegiate National Competitions 2026 our college's Rasashastra department third year post graduate student Dr. Mugdha Phadke received third prize in Paper Presentation Competition.

  • Dr. Deepak Ladda's lecture on Introduction to Diagnopedia: On 05/02/2026 at our college, a lecture on Introduction to Diagnopedia was organized for undergraduate and post graduate students by Dr. Deepak Ladda.

  • Dr. Ashish Dhotre, Dr. Suvarna Ramteke, Dr. Anubhuti and Mr. Vikas Kurne's lecture: On 17/02/2026 at our college's Kayachikitsa department, a lecture was organized under CME on NTEP Guidelines by Dr. Ashish Dhotre, Dr. Suvarna Ramteke, Dr. Anubhuti and Mr. Vikas Kurne.
  • Pharmacovigilance Awareness Program for ASU & H Drugs lecture: Peripheral Pharmacovigilance Centre (PPVC), Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai and MAM’s Sumatibhai Shah Ayurved Mahavidyalaya Malwadi, Hadapsar, jointly organized an online lecture on Pharmacovigilance Awareness Program for ASU & H Drugs on 27/02/2026. Teachers from our college participated in it.

  • NSS & SPORTS ACTIVITIES :-
    Dada Gujar Volleyball Cup Pune District Inter Ayurved College Sports Competition:     On 25/02/2026 to 26/02/2026, Dr. Dada Gujar Volleyball Cup Pune District Inter Ayurved College Sports Competition was organized by our college, in which women's and men's teams from 9 colleges in Pune district participated. In this competition, SSAM Hadapsar women's team and Tilak Ayurved College men's team won the championship title, while Government Ayurved College women's team and Farate Patil Ayurved College Mandavgad men's team secured the runner-up position.
